8 flamingos.....

......is my new high score for a pond away from the main breeding colony! 2 of these are resident on this pond, 2 are the pair I see regularly and I have no clue about the other 4.

This post also illustrates one of the advantages of living in a ridiculously mountainous island chain as opposed to super flat sand islands: vantage points. I'm travelling again this week and next so the posts will be pre-loaded and unfortunately brief but hopefully still interesting and occasionally beautiful.
