This is another example of a group of very old trees having germinated at the same time due to the same conditions and growing old together. No landscape designer would've had the audacity to think in redwood time and produce an entrance with quite such grandeur and yet mother nature provides.

Alas no. I was really tempted to try and get down to kew one morning but alas work and flu laid me low. Next time!
Well, it's taken me a while, but I'm trying to get around to everyone's Festival of the Trees submissions. What a great picture, and you're right-those trees do make for a grand entrance! Aren't the redwoods amazing?
