Since it is Inauguration Day

It seems appropriate somehow to share pictures of.......

The Senate.....

The House.......

and of course The President.....

These are all named trees/groups from the Giant Forest Redwood Grove. Sequoia only germinate when given a very certain set of conditions so its common to find groups of huge trees of almost identical size close together in groves - these are the result of a number of seeds germinating the same year as a result of perfect conditions. Speaking of perfect conditions, whilst this is not a political blog I must say I gave President Obama a 10/10 for his speech, a perfect bit of oratory. My favourite part, and the part I hope above all else we all follow up on, was

We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do.
