So it looks like there is a fairly good chance our little island and a good few others will wear a category 2 hurricane over the next couple of days. We've had a number of closish calls but, having monitored the awesome animations and tracking models on storm pulse throughout the day, it looks like this one will actually hit.
Good news is, topographically we are pretty well protected so I doubt we'll see two much damage but 100mphish winds should be interesting nonetheless. I may try to liveblog the experience depending on how it goes (I suspect the bulk of the action will be after dark unfortunately) but I have prescheduled posts (and a load of tinned food) lined up for the rest of the week anyhow if communications etc do go down.
