Whilst out looking at puffins the other day we also ran into a couple of grey seals. As I think I've mentioned before these are the biggest wild vertebrates on the British Isles (ie excluding cows and things which don't come ashore like whales). We don't have too many here, unlike at the rookeries further north such as the one near my home.
It is always a pleasure to see pinnipeds in the water as opposed to on land. They look so much more graceful on the move.
These took a watching brief from a distance and then disappeared to fish some more.
