The second of our wild orchid species (there are more to come....) is the Southern Marsh Orchid. It's another hot pink one.
I can distinguish this one pretty easily as it is the only Dactylorhiza species we have with unspotted leaves.
They actually get pretty big and the big tight pink heads really stand out in the fields - as yet there are only a few of these in flower but they are obvious a mile off.
