you don't just.....

....come across snakes when roadcruising the everglades. Among the many other critters you may spot are a whole array of turtles. Unfortunately the majority of turtles I saw were squished because some people apparently can't drive through national park without being morons.

I believe this is a 3 striped mud turtle, Kinosternon baurii. Anyone care to disagree/agree? FC?

It was remarkably small, remarkably cute and it made its way off the road unsquished because I made sure of it.
