[nearly] wordless wednesday

summer colours

Bumblebees and peacock butterfly feeding on purple coneflower (Echinacea) with a backdrop of Hemerocallis and Verbena bonariensis.

painted lady on holly

Painted lady on Variegated european holly.

A couple of quick thoughts:
  1. Britain had a massive influx of painted ladies this year. They were everywhere.
  2. I've been meaning to do a few more posts on wildlife gardening, wildlife in gardens and so forth but didn't have the pictures to accompany them. On this trip back to my folks I made sure to get the shots I wanted so there are some good posts in this area coming (which should be brilliant if you're in Europe and want/have a wildlife garden and thought-provoking but less directly applicable if you're elsewhere).
