Night dives are always interesting but night dive photography can throw up some unusual challenges. This is one of a little school of reef squid we came across the other day.
The fish and worm looking things were all attracted by my focus light and as I lined up to take a few shots of this helpful little squid they swarmed in in ever increasing numbers to the point where even getting a focus on the squid was impossible. I don't mid the little fish but I do mind the very big fish which hang just over your shoulder waiting to eat the little fish and scare the daylights out of you when they do and the swarming worms are no fun either.
