Sightings

A rather light week this week - I have been out every day targetting a few photo subjects but to be honest, it really hasn't come off. I did have
Osprey flyovers every day;
2 X flamingos flying over;
kestrels feeding fledglings out in the open;
a very pretty adult red tail hawk; and
a road cruised tarantula

What great sightings! I find it so hard to get good photos of birds. Out of fifty tries I might get one good one to put on my blog.

Thanks Amy, birds are indeed difficult. Most of the time it comes down to having the right tools for the job and being in the right place at the right time. A lot of cameras simply won't produce good bird photos at all unless you get insanely lucky with a very confiding individual. The photo opportunity I was actually after involved sitting very still and waiting for something very small to emerge with my macro set up - as a result I could do nothing with the string of avian marvels that passed over my head!
