Rabbitlet

Two local mammals in two weeks....I'd say we were on a hot streak but one was drowned in a swimming pool full of rare hybrid water lillies and the other is your plain vanilla European Rabbit.

 

This guy was about 3 feet away from me when I noticed him, frozen stock still beneath the gorse and hoping I would walk by. After taking a couple of shots I did. I guess this one is a little bit big to be called a kitten but it was absolutely tiny. Clearly young of the year but free and independent in the first week of April. I guess it goes without saying that his parents must have been keen to get on with things.....
