The first elephant

How to describe seeing one's first African Elephant? Well, I looked to my left and there it was striding down a dried up river bed. Beyond that there's not much I can offer.

Elephants in South Africa look like they should be there. If that sounds odd, consider their vast size and unique shape. I've always felt Elephants look slightly ridiculous in zoos and safari parks; impossibly big for their surroundings. In the massive vistas of Kruger though they simply fit.

Check out the foliage on the head. There will be more elephants to come.
