Bananasquirrel

Grizzled Giant Squirrels are large shy rodents found in Sri Lanka. They are apparently pretty shy but I was lucky to find a couple that had made a home by one of the hotel's bars and so had become accustomed to people. I don't usually approve of feeding the wildlife but since this guy had somehow acquired a banana I thought I'd take advantage and video.

Its worth noting that this is a good example of why its worth having your birding/herping/naturewatching mindset switched on at all times when you're in a place like this - these big squirrels were pretty unobtrusive and were ignored or missed by many visitors.
