Anole en bleue...

Oops. That second coontie post was intended for friday but apparently I can't keep track of the date. Oh well. Since I've neglected y'all somewhat over the last couple of weeks here's a Caribbean endemic for you. This is Grand Cayman's Anolis conspersus.

This picture is also illustrative of an idea I've been playing with for a while but never executed properly. Since our many species of Anolis are keen on posing on fences and wooden buildings and out here the fences and wooden buildings get painted bright colours the idea was to gather a collection of shots of different Anoles in similar poses against brightly painted walls and put together a sort of faux Warhol multiprint collection. Someday I'll probably get round to it and then the explanation above might make more sense. Have fun y'all - I should be back online monday with some slightly bigger vertebrates to share with you (he says, jinxing his expedition).
