Really Giant Sequoia Week #4 - The President Tree

The President Tree in Giant Forest Grove is the 4th largest Sequoia, Sequoiadendron giganteum, (and by extension living thing) in the world.

president

Here are the stats on the President:
  • 240.9 feet high;
  • 93.0 feet in circumference; and
  • 45,148 cubic feet in volume.
This is close to the Lincoln Tree and a number of other very large Sequoias including the House Group and Chief Sequoyah tree. Again unable to get any distance to shoot, I shot a series of photos moving up the trunk and glued them together to try and show its monstrous girth.
