The bane of my birding life

These fiddler crabs are a real problem for me whilst birding.

The issue is that these are big crabs and they duck away when they see you making a lot of noise. Its really difficult to work out where a little rail or wader has disappeared to in the mangrove when you have several hundred of these guys splashing about making white noise.

These guys get everywhere too - I often see one retreating under a paving stone on the main street of our capital.
