The quest for 100 continues...

So my quest to get to 100 species on my lifelist before 31/12/2008 was delayed by brutal weather this week. I can only hope the rains will create a few temporary pools that might draw in some interesting waders. One such last time out was this little plover.

I tried to convince myself it was a snowy or piping but its actually a young semi-palmated plover. These are very pretty birds when adult but I think this younster with the delicately scalloped feather pattern on the wing may be nicer still.
