Ice 'n' slice

limon

Citrus x limon, Kew orangery

Home grown citrus slices in your drink is probably the ultimate in self sufficient stylin. I've no idea what this specimen at Kew is but at home in the UK we've had massive success for many years with Meyer's lemon which whilst not a true lemon is much nicer in my view than supermarket lemons.

Underwater service will be resumed soon.

Interesting looking citrus at Kew - never seen one quite like it. We can get Meyer lemons on occasion in our local Trader Joe's. I made lemon curd from them for gifts to American friends last year. Meyer lemon plants are illegal in Arizona because they carry the Tristeza virus; otherwise I'd be growing my own.
