Bird of Paradise in a Rush

Being folks interested in nature as you are, you'll be familiar with the bird of paradise flower Strelitzia reginae. Long time readers will also be familiar with the cultivar Mandela's Gold. This is a little different. Its another species, Strelitzia juncea, and is a little smaller.

More intriguingly, as the name suggests, it has rush like leaves as opposed to the full leaves of the other species. Since the leaves look exactly like the unopened flower spikes its kind of a weird (and dramatic) looking plant and I love it.
