Ever had one of those days where no matter how hard you try you don't seem to get where you're trying to get to? This little hermit crab knows how you feel. See that orange thing stuck to his shell? Its a single sucker belonging to the massive octo below (which gives you an idea of scale and why he wasn't going anywhere)...
I don't think the hermit was in any danger of being eaten, he was less than snack-sized. When I first peered in the rock cave I think I gave the octo a bit of a shock and he instinctively grabbed onto his surroundings as protection. Unfortunately as well as the rocks he picked up a couple of tiny pebbles and one very bemused hermit crab.
